The Nintendo Switch 2 has been out now for a little bit over a year and it seems to having some really good success. However, people have been wondering when the next iteration of the console will be coming. We may have an answer to that question.
Thanks to post on Bluesky from the Nintendo Patents Watch account, there seems to be a new version of the Nintendo Switch 2 on the way. The device in question was posted on a Chinese resale site and shows the internals of what appears to be a newer screen. Now, before you go out and buy a new Switch 2, be sure to read the post below as this is more of an LCD upgrade and nothing to do with system memory, CPU, or GPU power. Instead the internal components for the LCD screens are seemingly being built by Sharp now instead of Innolux who were the original manufacturer for the Switch 2 screen.
A new model of Switch 2 LCD panel, most likely by Sharp, has surfaced on a Chinese resale site (img 1). Compared with the launch model from Innolux (img 2), the exposed circuit, connector, and cables are significantly different (imgs 3-4), indicating an updated design—not merely a minor revision. 1/

It seems as though the new LCD screen has newer connectors, circuits, and cables. The resolution is the same, sporting the 1080p resolution that was originally a staple for the original Switch 2. The interesting thing about this, however, is that the design could be relatively different than what we previously see with the current Switch 2, which would support the newly updated Switch 2 glass being used.
So, as you can see, nothing has really changed all that much from the original device. So, I wouldn't be going to run out and buy a new Switch 2 right away, especially since this is more an upgrade to the internal components of the screen and not a feature specific for the entire Switch 2 itself.
